Women of Color in Politics Networking Event

On Wednesday, February 7th, GU Politics, in collaboration with Georgetown University Women in Leadership (GUWiL), hosted a “Women of Color in Politics” Networking event. Sonali Mipuri (‘20) and Jessica Andino (‘18) proposed the event with the purpose of expanding access and opportunity to connecting with successful women of color. Designed as a “speed-dating”-style event to meet with women of color in politics, attendees had the opportunity to learn from professional role models. Among the ten professionals, there was a diversity of areas of expertise, from Claudia Cubas, an immigration attorney to Madalene Mielke, a political campaign consultant. The students in attendance enjoyed an evening of meeting strong, influential, thought-provoking, and inspiring conversation. Thanks to all who joined!
