GU Politics Reveals Spring 2022 Fellows

JENNA PAE: GU Politics announced its Spring 2022 cohort of fellows on Tuesday morning. Six leaders from all corners of American politics bring their decades of experience and unique insights to the Hilltop this semester.

The newest cohort of Fellows includes Ashley Etienne, former Communications Director to both Vice President Kamala Harris and Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Alyssa Farah Griffin, former White House Communications Director under the Trump administration, as well as Dafna Linzer, former Managing Editor for Politics at NBC News and MSNBC, will also serve as Fellows this semester. Wesley Lowery, a 60 Minutes+ Correspondent and Pulitzer Prize-winner for National Reporting joins them on the team. Rounding out the cohort are Kristen Soltis Anderson, Republican pollster and a founding partner of Echelon Insights, and Elliot Williams, the former Deputy Assistant Attorney General to the Obama administration’s Justice Department.

The Fellows program is an exciting opportunity for students to engage with and learn from experts active within politics, public service and media. Students can get involved in the Fellows program by attending discussion groups, visiting fellows’ office hours, and joining a Student Strategy Team.

Weekly discussion groups hosted by the Fellows cover a variety of pressing topics in American politics and are unique to each fellow’s area of expertise. Students can also meet with the Fellows individually during their office hours to learn more about nearly any topic, including how to be involved in public service themselves. Lastly, students have the opportunity to work closely with a Fellow throughout the semester by joining their Student Strategy Team. The strategy teams are critical for the research of discussion group topics and outreach to the Georgetown community. The application for joining a Student Strategy Team can be found here, and is due on January 23rd.

Students can meet the fellows for the first time and find out what they have planned this semester at the virtual GU Politics Fellows Fest held on January 20th.
